More about advertising than News

I am deeply disappointed with the current user experience. Requiring a registration wall to continue watching a live stream during a tornado warning is a significant safety concern. The registration process itself failed multiple times, cutting off access to critical information during a storm. Emergency broadcasts should be accessible without technical barriers.

ads are idiotic

in the middle of a tornado warning when i’m frantically trying to find coverage of the storm tracker to watch, ad breaks are EXACTLY what i want to encounter. :) yikes!

Ad Burrito/No Casting Support

The app’s live stream is sandwiched between two big ads, and the live stream cannot be casted to a screen/airplayed as it just sits there. It’s hard to get the family to gather around a small phone screen. I’d prefer to watch WKRN but oof the ads are out of control.

Edit: There’s a Roku app. Woohoo!

Many Longgg ads

Too many video ads. I don’t even use the app anymore. It became little news between long video ads. For Esther I use Fox17 red alert. I’m not sure it’s even a local station but it’s much better at weather alerts than channel 2’s news or weather app. I do watch channel 2 on TV (not the app because of ads before trying to watch a tornado warning) during tornado outbreaks because Danielle Breezy gives the best info. Channel 5 is a close second.

Has a LONG way to go

App is okay for reading the news, although it’s easier through their website with a browser. The “live” stream is a joke. It’s literally yesterday’s news; it may say it’s the morning news, but it’s really last night’s 10pm newscast. App isn’t really worth even the time to find and download it. Just go to WKRN.com - it’s a much better experience than what this garbage app offers.

Not great

Hey maybe don’t push ads in my face during tornado warnings! That 30 seconds could be the difference between life and death for some people!!! Do better!!

Soooooo many ads

Had to remove the ap. So many ads they were popping over each other. Worthless! Very disappointing.

Ads killing app

Dude…you have got to get a handle on whatever pop up pre-roll up ad you have when opening the app that’s killing the functionality of your app. For two weeks people have been commenting that when opening the app it flashes the logo the the app goes black. When that particular ad cycles out it works fine. Find the problem and get it solved.

Nope

Heads up, the app is no longer working. I open it and see a flash of the logo and then it goes to black. The only thing to do is close it and reopen it which leads to the same result.

Frustratingly Inaccurate

I receive notifications saying severe weather in our area. I click on the notification to see that the area isn’t even close to my location. This has been going on most of today and it’s been annoying so I uninstalled the app. I should’ve paid attention to other reviews which are having the same issue.

Info is good

but why do I have to close a stupid ad before I even get to the news. It’s also the only news app that always shuts off my music before I even click on a story. App needs

Horrible for a local news

I get weather alerts for my area which are counties 3-4 hours away from me. I want local news not state news. The weather channel app does that.

Thank you!!

Finally we’re able to go back to the main story page without having to scroll all the way up to the top to get to the arrow …now you just swipe down a little bit and the arrow pops up in the top left corner. Thank you so much. It was annoying now if you can only add just swipe right to go back to the menu page, it would be better but good start.

Garbage

This app is so full of audio ads that start running on their own. It stops music or videos I’m already streaming when I go to check the news. It also frequently reverts to days in the past, and shows that news as if it’s current. I have headlines from May 9th, over two weeks ago, as the “freshest” news available today. It’s a complete piece of garbage.

What happened to updating your news?

There are news posts that don’t change since the tornado went through Maury county

App reverts to may 9

Your app keeps reverting to may 9. STILL. That was almost three weeks ago. Time for a fix. It’s actually dangerous bc I check your app during severe weather and when I pull it up I think ‘nothing is currently happening’ when in fact we are under tornado warnings.

App has a bug

This app has a bug in it or something. It won’t refresh and it keeps showing the same stories from last week..I’ve deleted and reinstalled 2x

Stuck

Won’t refresh

Good Information

but somebody needs to work on the app. Once you open a story to read, you have to scroll all the way back up to the start to get the back arrow. Take one of those stupid ads off the top so you can go back without having to go all the way to the top of the story. I’ll read the headlines but I’ve quit opening stories because it’s such a pain.

The “bug fix” is a bug

After the update 2 days ago the app won’t work. It gets stuck asking me if I want weather alerts. I’ve DELETED and reinstalled 3 times. 2/16/2023.
