I want to totally delete this app and it won’t let me. It can be deleted from my screen but not totally. It still says opening the App Store. 👎
Poor accessibility implementation for VoiceOver users on iPhone
Using iPhone 17 Pro, latest iOS 2026 update, really wanted to be able to use this app. Unfortunately, as a voiceover screen reader user, this app falls very short on usability. Often, when entering on a News clip or just simply attempting to set one’s location as well as setting up Weather alert, the voiceover is unable to read anything on the screen. When you go into these areas, it’s long you’re only swiping to the left or to the right, it will read. However, what if you attempt to start entering information in the edit field or if you touch the middle of the screen, the only thing the voiceover does is to throw you up to the top of the year status area of the phone. I hope you will take this review into consideration and please implement accessibility so that everyone is able to access the information that this TV station is attempting to get out to the public.

No Station Better
When you watch this station, you will think you’re watching a national program instead of a local one. WLKY knows how to keep up with the ever changing world of technology and storytelling. Their anchors are top notch and very professional. There’s simply no need to ever watch a different channel.
Staying connected
When I am away working just like I am right now I live in Louisville Kentucky and I’m in Atlanta Georgia working and it is really nice to know what is going on back home and with this app it is always sending me notifications about something and I love it because it keeps me up-to-date on what is going onaround my hometown so thank you WKY for this wonderful app and all the employees that put in the hard work the way they do wonderful bunch of people

Closing and delays
The app will no longer open the list of closings and delays! Do not bother informing me of the number of businesses and schools that are closed if you won’t let me see who they are!
Accuracy
It feels good to look at the app and know that everything is accurate everything from News to Weather
Ads
I like the way the app is set up, how you can see closings and delays easily, and can access anything from hourly predictions to 10 day forecasts.
I understand that they have to make their money somehow, but if I am looking at something urgent, for example if they’re discussing tornado weather with current warnings, the last thing anyone wants is to sit through 45 seconds of ads.

One of the best…
Definitely the best designed local news app I have used. The weather section is easy to get to and the hour to hour forecast is lovely… fast and accurate
Good but recent release is buggy
I have enjoyed this app for years for news and weather. WLKY is top notch. Unfortunately, the release in summer of 2024 has a tendency to close the article you’re reading and return to the top of the NEWS page. Sometimes it does this so frequently the app almost becomes unusable. Still, I’m a loyal fan of WLKY and the app. I hope they address this issue.

Not getting notifications
I have not been getting notifications for the past 3 days now. I have notifications on. I have and iPhone and pixel and neither are getting notifications. Also the widget doesn’t work for iPhone it just shows blank.

Sever storms
When there is an active sever storm, there should not be any adds. A news company should be able to control that… legally…. If I am watching your app (which is my only way to watch) I have to listen to 10 adds before I hear you telling me to seek shelter!!!!!! That is so unsafe and unprofessional. No need for the app or to watch online if it won’t save a life!!!! Control your adds during emergency weather! Ya might save a life or two!!!!

Widget doesn’t work.
I tried adding the widget to my newsfeed page and every time I add it, it shows up blank. It is very frustrating when that is the best way to see todays headlines.

App locks up
Ran the old app on Apple IPad (6th gen) and it kept locking up. Deleted old app and installed new app same results. Did the same thing with another IPad with same results. Hope this gets fixed.
Difficult To Depend On
The information on the app changes more frequently than most people blink. As I type this I have hurricane force winds at my home, but according to this stupid app I’m only supposed to be having 11 mph winds now. Yup! Also there’s been several times where rain was predicted all day in Bowling Green and I called off my construction crew only come to find out it never rained a drop! I kid you not. Not sure what weather app is the most accurate but this one is absolutely terrible. Would not recommend!!!

Current weather and local news
I’m a diehard supporter of WLKY. When I want to see the most up to date and accurate weather forecast I just turn to WLKY . I either watch on tv or pull up the app on my phone.
