STOP THE AUTO PLAY VIDEOS OMG
Why did you do this app?? It’s horrific. The auto play video thing with volume is going to make me stop using NBC15 entirely! This is so obnoxious. App is not pleasant to use either. The old one was just fine. Why’d you waste the money on developing this??

I used to really like the app. I hate the new format. I used to watch the Morning Show, but now it’s now longer up-to-date, or and stories are broken up into segments with ads in between each segment. It’s unwatchable now. It’s too bad, because I used to enjoy watching it.
Old version was better
The new version is cumbersome. Did you do any user testing? The user has to wait for an ad to run before going to the app. Other key features have changed. A little tutorial on the changes would have been helpful.
The update NEEDS an update!
I like the look of the update but it’s a mess otherwise. No menu to select from sports, news, settings. Even though I go into the alerts it still shows notifications for an alert. If you go out of out it then come back into it immediately, you have to wait for the ad which is so annoying. I don’t want videos to play automatically, like never! Also so annoying. I want to like it but this new update is rather terrible.

Awful Writing and Editing
Quality local news can be tough to find, but the writers at NBC15 are so consistently awful that I can’t give this source more than 1 star. There are examples of unprofessional language and/or grammatical errors every day. The only stories that are written well are from external sources.
Hate the update
Just noticed the app updated today and I absolutely hate it. There was nothing wrong with the app and tried to make it better and it was a swing and a miss. Unfortunately I’ll be deleting until hopefully something gets fixed and back to the old one. Also won’t clear notifications even when there not on and that number is driving me nuts.

Version 5.0.1 March 2026. I can live with the new setup and the unfortunate lack of graphics in weather, but why can’t I easily stop the video from playing? Video should only play when I want and should only be relevant to the story I am reading. It seems that these videos are practically random.

I just want local news not a 15 second loading screen and the same lame ad for a month at a time.

Main page doesn’t show news headlines, just photos. And most links to weather direct you to the App Store to download their standalone weather app. For Madison news, WKOW is much better.

I want to use the app to catch the previous newscasts for local news but a lot of times it’s just the “LNL” which has the most annoying anchor around or a special news report that is sure not the local news for that time. Can’t even get it over the weekend most times. It seems they only have the previous newscast when they feel like putting it out. And when you do get it, watching is annoying as it’s so choppy with dead spots, evidently to compensate for commercials yet it has its own ads too. Useless! If you’re going to have an app to help out your audience, maybe put in some effort and not just slop it out there and say you have an app.

I’m old enough to remember when journalists were supposed to question the government narrative not regurgitating the press releases of the government bureaucrats who may, or may not be, acting in the best interests of the country. Shame on you!

This app always shuts when you’re trying to get a weather update. So frustrating
Biased coverage leads to low rating
I have this app for local news and weather coverage. I keep it only for the weather reporting but find your news coverage biased in favor of Republican agendas. Your blackout on the dire conditions Dane County, which for several days we experienced the second highest Covid positivity in the NATION, puts the entire community at risk. This should have been a lead story and yet there was no mention of at all anywhere on this site. Everyone associated with this should be withered with shame at abandoning their journalistic responsibilities.
