Fantastic alarm

I love this app! I’ve always dreaded going to sleep knowing my alarm is waiting for me on the other side, but this app has transformed the way I wake up in the mornings. Looking forward to continue using it :)

Wonder Why it Does Not Wake

I love the whole concept of Wonderwake, the lovely wake up sounds, 7-song choice, the inspirational quotes and weather, and wanted to make this my go-to alarm but sadly it doesn’t function the way I need it to. I can’t set multiple alarms for different days, only one. It takes more work to turn off the alarm: tap on the lock screen, then hold down the button while it cycles off, instead of a simple swipe like Apple clock. For the alarm to work, it has to be running in the background which drains the battery on my small old iPhone. If I force quit to prevent that, then I have to remember the next evening to turn it back on so it will wake me next morning. How do I change alarm tones? There seems to be no menu where I can do that beyond the initial set up. Guess I’ll go back to the clunky unattractive Apple clock where none of this happens.

Surprise Paywall

It seemed to be advertised as a free app with in-app purchases for extra features, but it’s a small trial that starts when the app is downloaded then you have to pay to continue to use it. It’s disappointing and greedy, rather than have extra features that cost money, the whole thing costs money after you’re tricked into downloading it for free. It was okay, I did enjoy the gentle wake up and the different sounds that could be chosen, but not enough to pay for it. I’ll go back to using Alarmy.

Reading that you felt tricked honestly hurts, because that was never my intention when creating the app. I do want to gently clarify that Wonderwake clearly explains during onboarding that every user receives 7 free days to try the complete app, with no commitment required. During those days, you can use the alarms, explore the different sounds, and experience the gentle wake-up before deciding whether the app is worth paying for. I chose to provide full access during this period because I believe people should be able to properly experience the app before making that decision. Wonderwake is created and maintained independently by me. The price supports the ongoing work required to keep the alarms reliable, adapt the app to new iOS versions, license the sounds used in the app, improve its features, and personally help users whenever something goes wrong. I completely understand that not every app will feel worth paying for to every person, and I sincerely respect your decision. I only want to reassure you that the pricing was never intended to be greedy or deceptive. I’m truly glad that you enjoyed the gentle wake-up and the different sounds. That part of your review means a lot to me because it is exactly the experience I hoped to create. Honestly, receiving a 2-star review still feels painful after putting so much care into the app, but more importantly, I do not want payment to prevent you from using something you enjoyed. great for light sleepers

i am a very light sleeper and most other “calm” alarms are still too harsh, too high pitched and dont actually play gradually louder over a long period. this is the only app ive had so far that does this and the alarm sounds are actually calm enough for me! it really just feels like a gradual, calm wake up. This app has helped me not be so stressed and anxious first thing in the morning

Must Try

All I knew is I needed another way to wake up than some blaring alarm. I tried this app out and it's nice I like the setup how to set the timers and choose your music. I would prefer something free but after the 7 day trial or whatever it was it's like $35 annually. Overall yeah this is a good solution

I tried this app and the first day it didn’t even wake me up and I didn’t wake up until two hours after my alarm.

Great app

I love the sounds and the price is not too bad. for a one time fee you pay 60 for a lifetime of the app. to me it’s a steal compared to the reliability of the app and the quality of sounds. you get a free trail as well so give it a try!
