Nice and simple
I’ve been liking the dev’s work since the Fenix days. Woolly has a clean and delightful UI, with some interesting funsies sprinkled in (like the dismissal animation in the full-screen image view).
Love this app
Woolly is my daily-driver for Mastodon, and I think I’ve tried them all.
Thank-you to the author - keep up the great work :-)

It was good
I love this app, I have it 5 stars in the past. I’ve tried many other mastodon apps, but always come back here (still).
However it is getting long in the tooth. It has some minor bugs and annoyances that lead to crashes and were never fixed. It lacks markdown support and the built-in Mastodon “formatting” is buggy.
It would be lovely to see an update.

Nice and simple… But no longer being updated
I’ve been liking the dev’s work since the Fenix days. Woolly has a clean and delightful UI, with some interesting interactions sprinkled in (like the dismissal animation in the full-screen image view). Updates have been sparse these days, not sure if they will ever happen again :/

Updates have been sparse these days but hopefully they will keep happening! To me it’s worth the subscription. Finally a bug report: column reorganization doesn’t seem to work sometimes. Luckily I don’t need it too much.

Getting there!
Edit: seems like abandonware. hasn’t been updated in forever and missing a lot of features. I’d recommend “IceCubes” instead. Old review: Would be nice to see how many followers a user has in the search results to know which is the most popular account of the results. One of the nice features of your largest competitor… “Who to follow” should shuffle more… seems static and random (not based on people I follow). When I check my followers it seems to only show the last 50 I’ve followed and not the entire list. Please fix? Loved Fenix for Twitter. Got the yearly subscription with you simply because the iPad columns interface and that you’re a one man team! Well done.

Used to be great
It jumped out way ahead early with nearly full features but then they stopped developing it. I'll be moving on I guess.
Nice app but please fix the crashes
The multi-columns and the ability to customize them makes very good use of the iPad’s screen real estate. It crashes sometimes when I’m scrolling on my iPad Pro. I hope this gets fixed soon. I also hope that the developer responds to questions and suggestions.

Falls short of greatness
There’s a lot to like in Woolly such as an elegant UX and good performance. What let’s it down though is stability. It invariably crashes every time I use it on my 12 Pro Max.
Room to Grow
Best looking of the bunch, clean and tasteful design. Where it lacks for me, and what keeps me from using it more, is its speed and how it loads new posts. To compare - I don’t like Ivory’s design but they’ve totally nailed the content loading mechanism and speed; the haptics are also helpful. I’m hoping Woolly will see improvements here and eventually be comparable to Ivory in this respect.

Very good.
My only gripe is that I’d like to be able to just tap the timeline button once to reach the very top of my feed.
Right now I have to get to the top, pull to refresh, then tap the top of the page to get to the top again. If I’m really behind I might have to do that several times before I’m at the top.

Woolly for the win
At first I used the web interface to access Mastodon. Then I read people talking about how much better the UX was on an app. So I tried, and paid for, the three leading apps.
Of the three, Woolly is the best for me, for the way I like to view and use Mastodon. Not every app will appeal to everyone, but I'll be using Woolly from now on.
P.S. It works just fine on my M1 MacBook Air.

Great app with a few annoyances
Really like this app, and as other users mentioned the threaded feature of the app is really great! It has a really nice and minimal UI that I like as well.
However one of the most annoying things I find about the app is that whenever I open the app after a day or two I have to sit and keep refreshing multiple times just to get to the latest posts. I don’t know if this is a feature, but it would be good to have a way to customize what the user wants to do!

Great app, except…
Love the app, love the design but it never refreshes to the latest. Even when i manually refresh, it grabs posts from 12h ago then i refresh again, now 9h ago etc. I think this is one of the best looking and best designed app for mastodon but not refreshing to latest post is a problem for me.
Fast
It’s a crowded market for Mastodon clients and several are very good. Woolly stands out as feeling the fastest and does a great job keeping your place in the timeline. Gets the basics right and is a pleasure to use. Also has the best icon. 🐘
Great!
I’ve used quite a few mastodon clients, and they all have their strengths and weaknesses but woolly is the best I found. For whatever reason Woolly does a lot better with message threading (click on a reply and the full conversation appears… most of the time 🙂). Aside from that Woolly is quite polished, has the features I enjoy, and doesn’t stutter in my iPhone. Good job!

More IAP subscription garbage
To go from outright of Fenix to monthly subscription for this new app is disgusting. App itself is also lacklustre with features missing from the paid version that are included in free and open source versions.
My favourite mastodon app
I've tried all the mastodon apps, and ended up using this one every day.
Woolly is so simple and gets to the point. Other masto apps are overwhelmed with options and settings. Woolly is elegant, simple, customisable and beautiful.
I can't wait to see how Woolly evolves in the future.
