Strange

The words start being things like fat ugly overweight every day

This should be called words for 6 year olds

I downloaded this app hoping to brush up on my vocabulary. Today’s word of the day is twelve. And the definition is a group of 12. are you kidding me? Deleting now.

Informative

Awesome little widget. Just wish there was more info available without using additional link such as the pronunciation . But the provided links have everything you could want. Best available for free.

Worthless

This app defined Synthetic as “a synthetic compound” and that was the last straw for me

Trash

High majority of words that show on the daily widget are basic and have terrible definitions. Example:
Objection; the act of objecting

Not the best words

I was disappointed by the words it was saying. The first one was trampoline, then magician, then elusive, which is a bit better and less known, but the last time it told me cosmic. I set it to be more and more advanced every day, and somehow cosmic is a word for the most advanced language? I’m trying to learn new words, not go back to elementary school. This is probably good for people who don’t know english, but not those who are native speakers and want to really enhance their vocabulary unfortunately.

Response from developer

Thanks for your review. We understand the frustration when the selected words don’t match the expected difficulty. We’re improving our level selection logic and expanding the word pool so the “advanced” setting consistently shows more challenging vocabulary in future updates.

Very low level vocabulary

The words have been very simple.

Makes up words

I’ve only had this app for a week and there have been two made up words. Am deleting the app and looking for a new one.

Ads

Love the word of the day, don’t mind the ads but they are hard to close

Needs Harder Words

The words are too simple. Even set to the most advanced setting it was generating words such as terrestrial.

Jane W.

I am grateful to the app for improving my vocabulary.

Unnecessary ads everytime you open the app

Forced to watch ads to view the definition of the word. Stupid

Perfect

No personalizing, no questions, no tricks. It’s a straight up word of the day and even gives you the link to the oxford dictionary and to look it up or translate on google! It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for!

Good concept

Good concept for a widget. Pronunciation tool does not work..

Good except instant ads

Good, except when you open the ad you’re quickly greeted with an ad within seconds. At least give us a moment so we can read and absorb the word before you send the ad in. Would be better if it had etymologies too but that’s probably a big ask and beyond the scope of the app.

Not good

I wanted creative words that I could use, instead it’s just any word. Like today, arthritis is the word. Not what I wanted.

Rubbish

The speaker doesn't work then leads into an ad - it could have been great

Waste of time

Simple words, bloated with ads and I can't find the app on my phone to uninstall it. It's such an insult to my intelligence I'm tempted to factory reset my phone just to get rid of it.

Response from developer

Thank you for the feedback. We’re sorry the word difficulty and definitions didn’t meet expectations. We’re currently improving our word-leveling system and refining definitions to make the daily widget more accurate and useful. Updates are on the way.

Spelling police

Today’s word of the day was licence. That should be all you need to know right there. The specific example was “a gun licence” the definition is absolutely AI generated. Deleting app now, it’s garbage.

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback — and sorry for the confusion. Some words have UK/US spelling variants (e.g., licence/license), and we agree examples/definitions should be clearer. We’re improving our content validation to ensure definitions and example sentences are accurate, natural, and properly localized.

Pointless

Same word for three days
