Used the app for over 10 years
I’ve been using the word reference app for over the past decade living abroad. It’s been incredibly useful while living in Spanish speaking countries and quickly looking up a word you need. It’s come in super handy and it’s been a great tool for someone who already has a solid grasp of a language and needs to search a specific word or phrase every now and then.
It gives you vocabulary which is helpful and works like a dictionary in that sense. And it also provides phrases and common sayings, as well as different variations of the same word by country or region. This has been great while living in Argentina as the app provides the correct usage versus other countries where they use a different word.
Super recommend for expats or travelers. I’ve been using this app for a long time and will continue to use it while still living abroad.

Tremendously helpful
This is my favorite dictionary so far for help learning Italian, not least because I’m constantly thinking of words I find useful in Spanish and can quickly get Italian equivalents for those too!

Doesn’t work with iOS 15.8.8?
This app is a work of genius, incredibly useful, but it’s stopped working on my iPhone 6s after some years. Why? App says works with anything from 13.0. I have iOS 15.8.8. Have tried reinstall and restarted phone. No good. Update: the problem seems more complex than I thought. Also site not loading on my 2013 MacBook. Overnight, something seems to shutting out old tech.

Love the website, hate the app
Completely unusable. The definitions won’t even load when I search them up. All I see is a blank white screen. How can a website be so good while the app is so trash? It’s plain trash.

Not working
As much as I love this application, it is frustrating that it now frequently doesn’t work. Upon searching a word in any dictionary, I’m given a blank white screen that never loads into anything. This same issue happens across two different devices, which means it’s not an isolated issue.

I have used this app for years and it never fails me. Other translators are not even comparable. I love how it give so many details and specific contexts so you can use words and phrases correctly

Not accessible
This appt doesn’t fully support dynamic text/font on iPhone. It is not usable for anyone visually impaired or low vision who wants to read it.

wonderful and helpful BUT
great and helpful app BUT where is the pronunciation for the female versions of French words??? heureux has a pronunciation but heureuse does not. not helpful for new words that i come across. other than that very handy, better than other apps.
best translation app
love this app. It’s buggy and imperfect but a million times better than any polished dictionary or translation app that just finds a million ways to make you pay or shoves adds down your throat.
There’s a couple bugs would be nice to fix. After your recent update the app isn’t working for me, i can’t search words, nothing loads.
Also, every time i open the app, if i immediately open the sidebar as if to change dictionaries, it auto closes, presumably when the initial load finishes.

Great App, but not working lately
I have always found this app very informative and appreciated the forums very enlightening, but lately the search bar doesn’t work and it doesn’t go past the introductory page. I use an iPhone 16, and the OS is up to date. Can we have a bug fix so that I can give you a well-deserved five star review?

AWFUL APP RACIST WORDS AND HURTFUL HELPERS when the app downloaded it gave me a notification saying a bad word
Application rudimentaire mais efficace
L’interface est à l’ancienne comme sur leur site internet mais cela reste toujours la référence si vous souhaitez trouver le bon mot en fonction du contexte, surtout entre la langue française et anglaise. Je recommande cette application pour tous les apprenants qui souhaitent enrichir leur vocabulaire, et pas seulement en anglais. Il reste encore beaucoup d’éléments manquants, notamment pour les langues plus exotiques comme le russe.
