Great app

So I’ve been using the app a little over a month now and I have been really enjoying it. The review especially helps me remember

The recent changes

So I’ve been using the app a little over a month now and I was really enjoying it. But today I found a completely different app. Idk what motivated the changes but instead of simply teaching you vocabulary based on what you already know the information is much more structured and spoon fed to you. I’m not saying it’s a bad experience but i preferred the previous format. I especially liked the reviews. Like that is what was actually teaching me and helping me remember. I feel like it exposed me to a much wider range of words instead of having to go through 30 lessons of hi how are you. I. understand some people might prefer this more structured method but I just wish they at least kept the option for people who were using the app and enjoying it. Now I need to find another app for learning my vocab.

Great!

Great app!

Really fun!

I thought the way they used real movies/shows was really cool! Really helped me get started on Spanish! I honestly like it better than Duolingo.

It no where stated you have to pay for your education to learn a new language and not many people have that that they can afford. Won’t be using

Response from developer

Hi, sorry for the confusion! Wordy is free to use – you can keep learning every day without paying. Pro only lifts the daily limit for those who want to go faster, and it's what keeps the app running. Nothing is locked behind it, so please give it another try!

Need to pay

Didn’t try the app because you need to pay

Response from developer

Hi Marie, you don't! Wordy is free – you can start learning right away. Pro is optional and simply removes the daily limit; it helps us cover the costs of running the app. Hope you'll give it a go.

AMAZING

Merci beaucoup

Super

Response from developer

Merci à vous ! 🙏 Content que l'app vous plaise. N'hésitez pas à suivre le parcours de leçons — c'est là que se trouve le cœur de l'apprentissage, avec la pratique de prononciation et les révisions. Bonne continuation !

Cant even get in

I wish i could give a proper review, but it was incredibly difficult to just login. Very annoying, do not recommend

Response from developer

Sorry the login got in the way — that's the worst possible first impression. Please check your connection, and if it still won't let you in, try reinstalling and signing in once more. If it's still stuck after that, message me from Settings → feedback inside the app and I'll get you in personally. I'd really like you to actually see the app.

Good

Verry good app

Disgrace

I do not wish to have to pay for education

Response from developer

I understand the frustration, and I'm sorry the app gave that impression. Wordy is free to use every day — the subscription only lifts the daily limit for people who want to move faster, it doesn't lock the lessons away. If you're happy with the daily amount, learning here costs nothing. I hope you'll give it another chance.

Paying for lessons

I did not know I had to pay to get lessons!! Will not be using this app.

Response from developer

Hi, sorry for the confusion — Wordy is free to use. There's a daily limit on how much you can get through in one day, and the subscription simply lifts that limit for people who want to move faster; it's also what keeps the app and the licensing behind the real clips running. The lessons themselves aren't locked away. I'd really like you to give it another go.

Suggestion for Wordy’s Subtitle Feature: Request to Add Chinese Subtitle Support

Dear Wordy Team,

I hope this message finds you well. First of all, thank you for creating such a helpful and beautifully designed app — it has already become a valuable tool in my daily learning.

I’m writing to kindly suggest adding Chinese subtitles in addition to the existing English ones. At the moment, the app only provides English captions, and while they are very useful, it can be challenging to fully understand certain unfamiliar sentences. Each time I encounter a phrase I don’t recognize, I need to switch to a separate translation app, which increases the time and effort required for studying.

Having optional Chinese subtitles would greatly improve the learning experience for users like me. It would make reading, understanding, and following the content much more efficient, allowing us to stay focused within Wordy instead of switching back and forth between different tools.

I truly appreciate the hard work your team has put into Wordy, and I believe this feature would make the app even more powerful and user-friendly for a wider audience.

Thank you very much for considering this request. I look forward to any future updates, and I greatly appreciate your continued efforts.

Warm regards,

Really love the app - but needs more careful content planning

I’m currently studying Korean. And studying using Wordy has been super helpful. However, almost all of the Korean content selected is geared towards a young audience of high school and college students. For someone like me who needs to be able to communicate with elderly family members and friends in Korean, this is a big problem.

For languages like Korean and Japanese, it’s extremely important to have content that takes honorifics into account.

And unfortunately, most of the content for Korean is spoken in casual form between students in university (who are already friends). It would have been wise to get content from talk shows and other formats that use more varied vocabulary and grammar. Otherwise, if someone mainly uses this app as their main study tool, they will commit many faux pas in their target language.

Estudio

Me gustaría que pudieras guardar las frases de los clips y estudiarlos como flash cards para repasarlos y no se olviden

Not bad but there is no option if someone wants to learn Hungarian!!!!

And I thought this was a hungarian app.
