Excellent App
You get real recommendations from people in the know!
Yes!! I love this app
I can’t believe I can earn cash back for eating! Works at my favorite restaurants and I’m discovering new places. Keep up the good work!
The restaurant guide we’ve been waiting for
Love it! I only eat where the food experts go and I haven’t had a single bad meal in years. The membership is 100% worth it.
App Crashing
Great concept, but the app crashes so much that it’s basically unusable.
Vapid subset of restaurants for the ‘gram perpetual tourist set
Ugh. My kingdom for a decent tasca where locals eat instead of all the trendhunter poser nonsense.
The app professes the world’s best restaurants “recommended by top chefs” - when chefs notoriously smoke, destroying their taste buds, and regularly abuse alcohol and drugs. Every Michelin-starred chef I know, without exception, subsists almost completely on junk food and instant noodles consumed with cheap alcohol at 4am.
This is just one example of the problem of when you gamify an app to pump up supposed “influencers’. Influencer culture is the problem, not the solution.
And it shows here already. There are great lists if you love food marketing and faux friend envy over flavor and history. The app, like many of the places it endorses, is more about you being seen than you having a great meal. Please kill the Instagram influencer wannabe culture and make the food the focus, not who is promoting it.
