The updated App is ridiculous with Ads. Some of the stories when opened play a loud video that cannot be stopped without exiting. It is clear to me that Gray Media is more interested in forcing Ads to make money than providing a news source. I am deleting this App and going to KETV’s App.
Why???
Usually reliable but since the latest update, now you can’t even share a story because the link doesn’t work. And can the add just show on the story instead of having to click through it?
New app makes battery HOT
I noticed my phone battery was getting extremely hot since installing app. I tried all the Apple instructions to fix this. Looking at my battery usage, turns out your new app was draining my battery - 20-30% an hour in addition to making my battery very hot. App is deleted. And will stay deleted. It’s a double win for me - the constant pop-ups are annoying. I am avoiding your pop ups and saving my phone battery.

Was a little better before.
New version is terrible. There are too many invasive ads that pop up when you click an article. Need to have an option to disable autoplay.
Navigation
App is mostly stable. Navigation is clunky, since they removed the swipe left/right capability.
Ads
Has always been my go to local news app. Now, after the update, when I go to a story, ads start blaring with no way to mute. I often check stories in locations I don’t want sound. Will stop using until things addressed.

New App Not Friendly
The new app constantly says there is a notification where there is not and you cannot get rid of the red notification unless you uninstall the app and reinstall it. In addition, the ad pop up every time you open the app does not make it a great experience.

Usually updates are supposed to be an improvement, but not this time. For one thing, I constantly have a “1” showing like I have a notification but have looked everywhere and nothing! I even deleted the app and reinstalled it, but the “1” still shows. I know it will take time to get used to the new format, but right now I wish I had the old app back.

Annoying Pre-ads
Your preview ads (the ones that come up before one has the option to skip to the news) have become really annoying lately- especially the ones with loud noises and statements.

Impossible to find any stories
One of the hardest apps to navigate, I can’t find any stories that are on the live TV news, I’m giving up and deleting it.
App not working
App does not finish loading. Running new Apple iPhone. Tried a couple times.

This station is clearly bias leaning far left as you can get.
Most annoying App on my screen
WOWT thinks their app is so amazing that you shouldn’t listen to anything else while reading these articles. Please stop being the primary audio. I need Spotify on background to make it through your grammatical errors.

Alert annoyance
In settings I’ve clearly checked which specific alert warnings I prefer. Why then am I getting alerts for EVERYTHING? I don’t need alerts telling me it’s going to be a nice day today!
Crashes every time I open it!
Piece of junk app. Since the latest update I have to open it at least 5 or more times to actually get it to work. It just keeps crashing before it even opens. Also, too many ads. It’s gone downhill just like the station has. The anchors on their now are terrible, especially that chick with the monotone voice that acts like she’s going to cry on every story she reads.

Keeps Crashing
Since the update the week of 3/11/2024, the app always crashes when I try to open it.
