Could easily be better
This app is nearly great and has lots of potential, but the color contrasts that the developer chooses makes reading the information nearly impossible. Dark text on dark backgrounds, or light grey on off-white, makes the information nearly unreadable and for no good purpose. Black on white or white on black would make this app something that I would recommend to friends or family, but as is, it is just too tedious to use. I hope a future revision fixes this shortcoming, or gives the user options for display colors and font sizes. KISS

Response from developer
Thanks so much for the feedback, and we hear you loud and clear. The version we released today (1.0.12) directly addresses your concerns. We hunted down every "light grey on off-white" moment across the app—25+ spots—and bumped them to solid dark text. Muted body text, subtitles, map search placeholders, and the profile's grey-on-grey search bars all now hit WCAG AA at minimum. We also redesigned the entire map style with lighter category colors to make the black typography stand out. Font-size options are on our roadmap next. Thanks for taking the time to write out what wasn't working — it made the fix specific and fast. We hope you'll give us another chance to earn a better review! — Team Wrinkles
Wowwww
This is such a cool concept!! Was playing around and found out Michael Jackson’s Thriller music video was filmed on my block. I now love dropping that fact!! Especially can’t wait to try on my next trip to Europe! Can’t imagine how much Wrinkle history is there.
For History Lovers, Curious Travelers, and Everyday Explorers Alike
This app is truly incredible. I am a deep lover of history (especially those that are intimate and hidden), so when I found out about the app, I downloaded it to explore the niche stories of each place I’ve been.
Most recently, I spent five months living in Florence while studying history. By the time I left, I felt fairly confident that I had gone beyond the surface in understanding the city and its immense historical legacy. Wrinkles, however, quickly showed me how much I still had to learn.
During my time there, I was also conducting research for my upcoming thesis on Florentine nuns, and I was stunned to discover, through the app, that the conservatory across the street from my apartment was a former Medici nunnery—an incredibly rich resource that had sat directly under my nose for five months. Five minutes later, I discovered that Scrabble had been invented in one of my former hometowns.
Wrinkles is a treasure trove of beautiful, layered histories—grand and intimate. I can only imagine how much more there is to uncover. My only qualm now is that I wish I had discovered Wrinkles sooner!

Hidden in Plain Sight
I’ve been using Wrinkles since it launched, and it has completely changed how I approach a day out. Whether I’m exploring right here in our own neighborhood or heading somewhere brand new, this app turns a simple walk into an incredible journey of discovery.
What I love most is how it uncovers the "hidden in plain sight" details. Locally, I’ve found so many spots and stories I never knew existed, even in areas I thought I knew well. It’s perfect for any journey because it moves at your pace, surfacing unique insights and landmarks that you’d never find in a standard guidebook.
