What's New in WristCoach

1.1.1

September 19, 2026

Fixes for workouts that run on Apple Watch with the iPhone nearby. • iPhone cue sounds now play through the whole workout when it runs on the watch, including the opening countdown, and stop cleanly when it ends • Starting from iPhone with a watch on: both devices count in together instead of the phone joining after the watch has already started • The rest cue is now a quick double beep, so it no longer sounds like the start of a movement, and very short transitions no longer stack cues • A "Play cue sounds" switch in Settings turns the phone's cues off when the watch is the only sound you want • Editing a workout: remove one rest without touching the others • Generated workouts no longer include rests the source never had • The weekly planning reminder is on by default, and only sent when the coming week has no plan yet

FAQ

How does WristCoach create workouts?

WristCoach can parse workout videos from links, understand typed workout descriptions like '4 rounds: 40s box jumps, 20s rest', or even interpret handwritten plans from photos. It then identifies exercises, intervals, sets, and rest periods to build a structured session.

Can I use WristCoach without my iPhone?

Yes, WristCoach is designed to run workouts directly on your Apple Watch. Once a workout is set up, you can follow it entirely on your wrist, receiving notifications for exercise changes and viewing your heart rate without needing your phone.

What types of workouts does WristCoach understand?

WristCoach understands various workout structures including circuits, EMOM, Tabata, supersets, rounds, and work/rest intervals. It can also read on-screen exercise names from videos, displaying them on your watch instead of generic labels.

Does WristCoach integrate with Apple Health?

Yes, WristCoach saves finished workouts to Apple Health, including details like heart rate, calories burned, and time spent in specific heart rate zones. This integration helps you keep all your fitness data in one place.

How often is WristCoach updated?

The latest version, 1.1.1, was released on September 19, 2026. While specific update frequency isn't detailed, the app is actively maintained, with the latest update occurring recently.

What devices is WristCoach compatible with?

WristCoach requires iOS 18 or later for the iPhone. The Apple Watch app requires watchOS 10 or later, but the app can also run on the iPhone alone if you don't have a compatible watch.

Is WristCoach suitable for all ages?

WristCoach has an age rating of 4+, making it accessible for younger users. However, it provides workout structure, not medical advice, and users should consult a physician before starting any new exercise program.

Does WristCoach have ads?

No, WristCoach is ad-free. The app is designed with privacy in mind and does not contain advertisements, trackers, or analytics, ensuring a clean and focused user experience.
