Needs Apple CarPlay!
Apple CarPlay is needed to get the full potential of this app. I have to pull over and stop to be able to use my phone to change any settings.
No CarPlay?
The app functions well overall, but my main concern is the lack of CarPlay compatibility. Considering that using your phone while driving is ILLEGAL in many states and territories, it seems essential for the app to support CarPlay for operation. While the Fob can control the Varex system, having invested in the premium “Smart Box”, it feels like a step backward to rely on the “dumb” option. XForce, please address this issue to make the Smart Box truly live up to its name

The app works well. However, having ti touch the phone is a major drawback. Please implement CarPlay as well as intents. With CarPlay using the app in the car will be straightforward and with intents, users can use the shortcuts app to control the system with Siri.

Varex Smartbox is even better with Haltech CAN integration
I purchased the smartbox to haltech can adapter cable and updated to the latest firmware and now my smartbox is plug and play into my Haltech elite 1500.
Smartbox works so good with my Haltech real-time. Highly recommend anyone with a haltech ecu with a Varex exhaust or Varex exhaust cutout to control their exhaust

Excellent valve control
I’ve used the app to set up my Varex exhaust and it’s worked perfectly. Presetting my preferences was straightforward. The Geo mode is amazing too, I keep my loud exhaust away from the neighbours
Good but…
This really needs to be compatible with Apple CarPlay. Even if just the basic controls to open and close the valve were available, it would still be super handy.
Great Product
I have used this app for nearly 3 years with no issues. The Geo settings work well and I find that it stores my settings well. So when I go somewhere outside the range I set, XForce returns to what is set in the Geo mode. That is outside my zero set range it starts at what was previously set. Also it helps when your close to home. No need to upset the neighbours! It will automatically revert to whatever I have set, eg. 0%.

How cool would it be if the app could work on Apple CarPlay.
Just needs Siri Integration
Great app that provides an easy alternative to either using the OBD input or the keys to change the valves. Although Bluetooth is very handy and the smart box connects quickly, it is a concern using your phone while driving. If the devs could add Siri integration to some of the standard features of the app, it would negate any reason to access the app while driving. This could also easily fit into Shortcuts to enable seamless control with some basic scripting. Either way a great resource and definitely impressed people when control of the exhaust can be handled to cleanly through an app.

App suddenly isn’t connecting to my exhaust after only 3 weeks...

The app doesn’t always read the correct valve percentage, Example if set to 50% it would show on the app at 44% - 49% small bit quite annoying,
Security features upon log in. Option should be there to sign in, weather a pin code or Face ID, if they aren’t detected or are incorrect in a certain time frame, the valve should automatically open.
It works well otherwise, but with the technology in the exhaust it would be nice to have some more features embedded in the app.

Frequent crashes.
Frequent crashes especially during phone callings.
Presets By Gear
It would be great to have presets for gear change. So all you would have to do is load them up. For people like me who have no idea how to set this up. This is a great sounding system any one will enjoy!
Defaults to closed valve every start up
The app works quite well however my only real fault I would say is that the valve defaults to closed on every startup. The varex system should remember last valve setting before switched off. It kind of gets annoying having to open the app every time I jump in the car to have a bit of noise and some better exhaust flow. I definitely would not push a car whilst the valve is closed as it feels restricted due to not enough flow. Xforce please resolve this issue and the smart box will definitely be smart. Would be a 5 star app definitely if I didn’t have to open the app on every start up.

Great app and product
This app works 100% as described and I’ve never had an issue (if only the mufflers themselves were as flawless). A couple of suggested improvements as follows, but these would just be tweaks to something that already works extremely well.
- allow changes to matrix and geo modes whilst car not running (and then upload when next connected)
- In matrix mode, show when each parameter is within band within a profile (to assist tweaking). Currently only indicates when a profile is active (when all 3 parameters are in band).
- Enable smaller adjustments to parameters within matrix mode (ie. less than 1000rpm band width).

Great system and app
I have the complete system on my gen f GTS. It’s amazing, all the noise when I want it and no drone and silence when I need it. The geo feature keeps my partner happy as well. A big thumbs up. The only thing I could ask is that the next update allows users to change settings without being linked to the smart box. And then automatically updating the settings once becoming reconnected.
