XiYZ Puzzle App

The game has been designed to be simple to play. You take photos or import existing photos on your phone using the “Camera” option. These are then stored in the “Gallery”. They can then be transformed into square jigsaw puzzles and the user can select one of varying sizes 3x3, 4x4, 5x5 or 6x6. The game can be made more difficult by selecting the “Rotate” feature, which randomly rotates each piece before the game begins. Progress is made by tapping two different squares to swap the pieces. If playing in "Rotate" mode, a piece is rotated by 90 degrees clockwise by double tapping a piece. The time taken is displayed throughout the game and recorded and stored on completion in the “Best Times” section. In Best Times there is a “Replay” option for you to try and beat your best time. If successful, it is replaced by the new best time. There is also a “Pause” feature in case you are interrupted. This will hide progress so far (to stop cheating!) until you can resume. A paused game can also be “Saved” together with the progress so far. The same photo game can be resumed or completely replayed and then paused, and you can decide which version to save.
