Terrible App waisted a subscription
Can’t access the magazine because App goes into an eternal queue. No customer assistance available. Huge waste of money and time trying to get it to work. Uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times to no avail. You’d think an App to read a magazine is basics 101, but they managed to get it totally wrong.

A total mess
Like its sister apps, poorly thought out, badly executed and abysmally tested.
Great app but terrible customer service
I subscribed through the magazines direct website and had to email them to get the subscription activated..it took a week. But, if you are subscribed to both Yachting World and Yachting Monthly the account doesn’t seem to allow for both....or it might, but will take you another week to get a response from the customer service team..still waiting...

Can’t read off line
I have have a subscription but despite downloading editions they will not open when off line for no apparent reason. The time I want to read them is when I’m travelling!
Getting better!
Can’t fault the content and general quality of editorial however the app itself whilst improved recently (noticeably more stable than previous) should be better. For example the pages need more interactivity ie access to multi media content and also improved navigation direct from contents page. Whilst it’s been a long haul, The Times has finally got these aspects right in my opinion and might provide a useful template/ additional pointers for improvement to YM.

They've ruined it
I love yachting world and the contents this review is about the software delivery. Since YW have updated the app it does not work. The new version causes the app to hang as it seems to constantly want to connect on line even when I have restored my yearly subscription. I don't know what the problem is but I have sent my comments to the YW team and have not received a reply. I am viewing the app on an earlier device so that may cause issues however the older version worked fine. I am not going to upgrade my iPad just because the app is optimised for newer hardware - YW please fix this.

Not a good performer with IOS 8 which needs sorting, otherwise a good App.

Very helpful magazine but the App needs some work.
Need to have embedded links to Videos and extra content. Sections which have Web addresses should link directly with one click.
Currently the App seems stuck on an advert page with a link to asking for a review.
Hope I can get back to being able to read my magazine?

The biggest downside is the amount of junk mail I now get from the yachting sector from signing up with Yachting World. Please stop selling our contact details!

Great imagery and pretty easy getting about the magazine on my ipad. Getting logged on at first could be better explained, but very impressed when I opened up the issue.

Absolutely useless I have tried on and off for six months to get this app to work and after considerable contact with IPC absolutely nothing. I have yet to receive a copy. I can't think how a large organisation as IPC can have such a useless product.
Hopeless
As a print subscriber I'm supposed to benefit from electronic copies. After first month these ceased. Impossible to get App to recognise my subscription. As a consequence they will lose a customer at next renewal.
Easy
Very handy to have it all in one place. You can have all the issues you want without the weight of the paper. Great for long passages or whiling away the time at anchor.
Upgrade is terrible
After upgrading to the latest version, all the magazines I downloaded prior to the upgrade had been deleted. The restore function does not work. Could download all magazines without cost again but it took hours. When downloading you need to keep the app open, if you close it it does not continue to download and what you downloaded is lost and has to start from sc ratch again for that particular issue. When your Ipad goes into sleep mode the same story again.

Waste of space
Downloaded the app (so I thought) and got a free copy of YW but no app! Now I can open the free copy that downloaded onto Newstand on my iPad but there is no app that I can see so I can't enter my subscriber number to get free copies.
When I went to the App store to try and download again it just says that it is installed .... No way to download it again and go through what the instructions say should have happened the first time - ie enter the subscriber number to get my free digital copies.
Called the help desk number but the very nice girl at the end of the phone was unable to give me any help at all!
Had another go, and now seem to have an app in newsstand - ok, I can now login, but completely unable to access free copies, only buy individual copies......This is not an app - don't bother.....

At last a sensible subscription model!
Top marks for allowing us to buy individual magazines from within the app. Too many publishers greedily force an all or nothing subscription model on us.
The app itself? There are rather too many buttons on screen. Surely by now there should be a standard GUI? The magazine is just as good as the print version with one exception - the glorious double page photo spreads you find in the magazine have to be viewed one page at a time. It is possible to scroll across which can be fun but the app thinks you are trying to turn the page and tends to flip over.
It still deserves top marks for not demanding a direct monthly link to our wallets. Come on Guardian, Economist and the rest of you greedy publishers out there. Pay attention!

Dreadful
Thought it was a good idea as I already subscribe BUT (1) won't let me login despite registering (2) keeps on losing login (3) impossible to talk to anyone. I think if IPC have a commitment to e pubs they ought to make sure that they work.
