Confusing - is this used to track my yard or yours?
Response from developer
Thanks for your feedback! I’d like to clear up the confusion. Your stash/inventory is always private to you. Only you can see and manage the quantity of skeins you have in your inventory. The public yarn database is separate — this is where yarn details (brand, color, weight, etc.) are stored so everyone doesn’t have to re-type the same yarn information over and over. To keep that shared database accurate, edits to existing yarn records go through a quick review. That way, mistakes don’t affect other users who already have the same yarn in their stash. You’re tracking your own yarn, privately, while also benefiting from (and contributing to) a shared library of yarn records. If you’d like any help getting started, feel free to reach out to hookingcutecreations@gmail.com and we would be happy to help

Fixed Scanner!
Response from developer
Thank you for your feedback! We’ve fixed the issue with the barcode scanner on iPads in our latest update — please make sure you’re running the most recent version of the app. We’re constantly working to improve the experience and expand our scannable yarn stash. Our goal is to make Yarn Hoarder the simplest and most helpful tool for managing your yarn collection. Please contact us at hookingcutecreations@gmail.com if you have any more issues, questions, or suggestions!
Yarn Database is limited
If I manually add it, it would be nice to have a “submit to database” for future use. Also, I will pay a one-time fee to get rid of the Ads.
A feature request: provide an excel template we can fill in then import the data. This would save time being able to enter ALL my yarn at one time. I have a lot of yarn and the number of skeins I have scanned have not worked. Also, the ability to duplicate a yarn entry would help. For instance, I have a lot of the same yarn so most of the stats are the same except for the color.
I wound love to help you out if testing is needed. Thank you for building the app!!!

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback — this is exactly the kind of input that helps us make Yarn Hoarder better! Barcode scanning doesn't always find yarn yet. We are a new app and working hard to compile a database full of UPCs for yarn to make it easier for everyone. Whenever someone adds new yarn, it does become available for everyone else to reuse — so you're directly helping the whole community just by using the app. We're building a bulk import feature where you can upload a spreadsheet to quickly add all your yarn. Including UPC codes in those imports will be a huge help to the overall scan accuracy for everyone. Our goal is to build the easiest to use cross-platform application to track your yarn collection!
