Star rating is increasing exponentially

1.) first review: Yata has potential!!! Increased to 5 star. Worth the cost.
2.) Yata 4.3.0 is here. 10 stars

Thank you and stay tuned for more to come! Edit: Thanks for the updated review! Again, there’s even more coming in the pipeline so stay tuned!

Not good at all

I tried multiple to do lists and I can definitely say that this one is one of the worst.

Impressive

Wish I could find a tutorial on Youtube!! I have tried out every task management app out there and this one is very impressive… it reminds me very much of an app that so many of us all love for its minimalist aesthetics and intuitive design but with much more customization options and a heavier emphasis on the GTD method. I’m astonished that no one is talking about this app.

Yata is a GAME changer.

Yata has been the only GTD/Todo app that I’ve been able to stick with. Super fluid, minimal interface with NO ADS. No collection of any personal data. This was everything I was looking for.

Upon opening the app, you’ll find many highly customizable options and features, shortcuts, widgets, a calendar that you can design to fit your needs, notes sections, timers, and many, many more.

All the widgets, shortcuts, and share sheet options really do set it apart from all other Productivity apps. I’ve replaced the native iOS Reminders and calendar apps with Yata.

Thank you for creating this masterpiece :)

Finally getting organized

I love how structured yet flexible this app is. Great for unloading thoughts, then reviewing and organizing/prioritizing them.

One thing I would love, is for the ability to start a Pomodoro timer when working on a task.

I currently use a separate app for Pomodoro, but it would be great to be able to have the timer directly in the app. (Time tracking to individual tasks would be great too)

Thank you for your kind review! I will consider your request to support Pomodoro timers for future updates. In the meantime, stay tuned for more to come!

nice, clean app with good functionality

I look forward to seeing the future development of this app, so I subscribed. One feature I would love to see, especially for Apple Watch is tapping to enable a looping timer on Routines and lists. For example, if I have a morning routine with 10 tasks, it would be awesome to start a timer that loops 10 times for the number of minutes I set per task and gives an audible tone and haptic taps (like Apple maps directions do) for each task change. The ability to set up nagging alerts for specific crucial events (the way the Alarmed app can do) would also be fantastic. I'd also pay more for a Family Sharing-enabled option. Great work so far!

Thank you for the support! I will keep your suggestions in mind for future updates. With regards to Family Sharing, I’m not sure if you mean the ability to share lists with others, but this was recently added as of v4.1!

Very promising app, but very buggy

Lots of instances of the app freezing up or prompting me to undo or redo tasks. Feels kind of unintuitive and I’m sometimes guessing whether or not my input has registered.

That said. I do really like the app. Extremely awesome UI and a simplicity seems to be there. But under the hood there seem to be some issues.

I do love the app and find it useful though it’s troubling at times.

Hi Jonyewest, thank you for the feedback. Regarding the undo/redo prompts, I was under the impression that it was a nice feature to be able to undo/redo actions if a mistake was made? I did not know this would be have a negative effect on users. I’m always trying to improve the app’s responsiveness, and I hope to have your support in the future!

Really Good

I really like it, but am there needs to be more repeat options - for example ‘weekdays only’ or ‘weekends only’, and even specific days of the week - for example, ‘Mondays Wednesdays & Fridays’

Looks good

I like the layout and the look of this app. I’ve taken one star off because I’m having a heck of a time figuring out how to use it. The videos on YouTube weren’t very good. I need a user manual I guess.

Delightful experience

Integrated calendars for all accounts

Misrep

The app store shows the lifetime is free, but this feature is not available in the application itself, which clearly constitutes a misrepresentation.

Nice but….

It is a great app, but I don’t plan to keep for two reasons. When it pulled in reminders, it took all of the sub tasks and made them regular tasks. The calendar is not in the format ui prefer which is a list.

Response from developer

Thank you for reviewing Yata. I would love to support importing subtasks from reminders, but unfortunately Apple does not expose this capability to third-party developers. I hope you understand! As for the calendar, there is the Upcoming list which presents your calendar in a list view. It is pretty basic right now, but I’m working to improve upon it in future updates!

Would be my top choice if not for bugs and lag

This is essentially Things, Structured and GTD jammed into one app which is really nice. It is borderline unusable however, because the app somehow lags a lot on my iPhone 12 Pro,
every click has a 3s delay before it registers. Please fix it to be responsive and I will subscribe to premium for sure.

Hi tkcamper, Thank you for your review. Performance on older devices, especially for users with more data, is definitely something to be improved. I’m working on it, and I hope to regain your trust and support in the near future! EDIT: Do try out the latest update (v3.2), I made lots of changes under-the-hood to improve the performance and responsiveness of the app!

Awesome app

This app exceeded my expectations. I've finally found the "to do" app that works for me. I tried so many of them, but I definitely prefer this one. It definitely has a learning curve to it. I recommend reading the user guide because it helps explain how to use this app to its full potential. After playing with it more and learning it, it really clicked for me. I'm going to keep using it. Oh and the widgets are great too. I'm going to pay for the pro features because it is only $5 a year. Definitely recommend this app.

Great Concept. Lots is bugs and issues

I love the design, ascetics, and concept but lots of issues with things nor working. I don’t see a way to create a calendar event vs an action item. I can’t sign an event to my different calendars that I pulled in from gmail. I created one project but could was not able to create another project. I then used the iOS shortcut Action to create a new project and it said it was completed but the project does not show in the app. Needs more polish than I will give it more stars.

Hi Daveh3100, I appreciate your feedback and criticism, and I apologise for the poor user experience you had with the app. However, without more details, it is difficult to know what is causing each of the issues you brought up. If you are willing, I would love the chance to help you personally debug the issues you are experiencing! Please get in touch with me via email at support@yata-gtd.com. Brandon P.S. regarding the creation of calendar events, this can be done in the Calendar view. You can tap and hold on the plus button to bring up various menu items, including an option to create a calendar event.

The Best

I literally cannot believe this app is free! This is the best to do app I have tried – and I have tried numerous over the last year

Hi Nicole, I’m so glad you find the app useful. Thank you for the kind words and stay tuned for much more to come!
