So many bad reviews and I am not alone having the same issue. This doesn’t even deserve a one star. What a waste of money and time. Don’t buy!
Video duration
Too many adds Video is too short 6 seconds is not enough time. At least 30sec to a minute of viewing time option as I don’t want to pay for cloud. Paying Camera was enough. I had a camera prior to this one and it was free! I regretted buyin this one. You are compromising. The Security. Of the client.

Rubbish
You sign up for trial or pay monthly fee its ok but the minute you cancel the app becomes unusable because of the relentless adverts . Dont use and dont buy the products
Unable to cancel subscription
I have reached out to support numerous times to close my account and to cancel my subscription. Each time they assure me that I have not been charged and that it will not renew.. but every day I wake up to the 15.99 failed charge as it continues to try and process the renewal. I no longer needed the service as I have gone to a different “trusted” service.
All in all it’s a hassle and I just want it to be over.

Terrible App
O bought one of the cameras for a baby monitor. If you don’t subscribe to their services, the app is all but unusable. Avoid their products. You’ve been warned

I was gifted this item. Even though it was free, it was a waste of money. The plastic its made of would better serve as a litter box.

Why did I do the update? 😭
All was well for year. I plugged the camera in when I needed it. Now I updated the app and it’s full of ads. Sorry, but when I get an alarm or notification and I can’t access the camera immediately because I have to watch 2 min up rubbish game ads, that’s not great. Will have to look for another camera now.

Terrible customer service.
If I could give 0 stars I would…I haven’t had the camera for nearly two years as it got so bad I changed to Ring. The camera stopped recording to the memory card and so I had to subscribe to their cloud service…but now two years later they keep trying to charge my card for the subscription fee and after asking them countless times to cancel my subscription, I am still trying to fight it. They have ignored my repeated emails. I have not had this camera for nearly two years and last year they managed to collect the money from my bank even though I don’t have the camera. I am getting really frustrated with these idiots.
Update: This company are unbelievable…they responded to this review offering me a discount on my subscription. Why do they not understand I DO NOT HAVE THE CAMERA ANYMORE??!!!!!!! So why would I want a discount?? I just want to CANCEL the bloody thing cos at the moment I can’t leave much money in my bank account as they repeatedly trying to take £25.99 for something I just do not have!! I changed to Ring as they are so much better.

Trash App- Worst I have seen
I have used many cameras and I own many different ones with different apps. This one sucks royally. When you first tap on the app, immediately it plays a minute long ad with loud sound that you cannot skip. Once you pass the app and begin viewing the camera picture, every second literally another app pops up. This is an advertisement app pretending to be a camera app. When you see “Yi iot” STAY AWAY!!!!

Can’t even get to the app
This is useless so much BS you can’t even get to the camera. I’m going to the Riolink cameras and app no BS with them.
Can’t get past ads
I don’t leave many reviews but feel compelled to rate this and warn others if they are thinking about buying this product. They changed the app to constantly show ads which are difficult if not impossible to ‘x’ out of before getting to any of the stated functionality. If you bought the cameras and can return them I highly recommend you do.

I made a mistake
The camera is ok . The app bombards you with the need to pay for cloud. Obstructs the SIM card usage. Report event late and misses the start of some. Will be changing camera’s.
Too Much
Yes, some revenue is required to keep the platform running but the amount of adds and pushy marketing has become Too Much on the no fee option and cost of the paid service is not worth the image quality. So many adverts to decline every time you open the app
Won’t let you cancel
Subscribed and now trying to cancel. Making it impossible to do so, have to do via app. Even when you try you end up with endless responses. Do not subscribe!

Horrible full of adds and useless stuff. Takes up to 2 full minutes with all the adds & popups before you can get to your camera then another add and popups

Basic Feature are a joke!
A year on from owning the camera which this app is for, having also bought my own memory card, and the basic recordings are now covered over with a money-grabbing premium feature. You now can’t even view a few seconds worth of video for hardware paid for! Absolute joke!
Bad app
The app is very disappointing. There are far too many ads, and they appear almost every time you try to use a feature. It makes the app frustrating and difficult to use. The constant interruptions ruin the experience. I wouldn’t recommend it unless the developers reduce the number of ads.
Yi IoT will fill the app with ads you can’t avoid
Ads, ads, ads. And all of it is garbage. The ap gets worse the longer you use it. The camera works great, but getting to the camera display is slower every month, maybe every week with the junk you have to wade through first to see the camera image. Even if you say done or close, it can take you to the App Store to sell you their junk. Especially when finished viewing a video under alerts. So annoying when the camera tech is decent.
Updated Sept 2025. The ads keep getting harder and harder to work around. Basically the app has become a waste of time. I’ve got better things to do than wait for the X to be enabled on the ad display, then even when the X is enabled, it isn’t really a button to close the ad, but rather a link to get the useless garbage from the App Store. Close the app, and start over. By the third restart, probably only 2 ads to ‘wait’ through. If I spend half the time writing reviews as I waste with the ads in this junky app, I’d have to upload all of Wikipedia.
