Useless for top down/ bottom up shades.
I bought the Yoolax Zigbee top-down/bottom-up shade and also paid extra for the Yoolax hub for app control. The app is basically useless for my shade.
It only moves the bottom rail and has no option to control the second/top rail. The physical remote controls both rails, so the shade itself works, but the app/hub cannot properly operate the product I purchased it for.
Yoolax support confirmed the app does not currently support the second rail. This is a major missing function and should have been clearly disclosed before selling the hub/app as a smart-control option for top-down/bottom-up shades. Very disappointing.

Great features but has bugs
Open or close blinds depending on temperature, wind speed or weather preconditions! This is smarter than what Amazon Echo or Google Home are capable of at the time of this review. Unfortunately there are bugs but the app does log all scheduled activities in message notifications so you can at least debug the issues.

Poor control of sheer vertical blinds: no curtain position %
We bought some of their new sheer vertical blinds in late 2025. Overall pretty good and the price was much better than the big name competitors although still not what I would say cheap.
There’s a big problem though with this product: you cannot control the degree of openness. You can control the angle of the vanes, but there is no setting for how open the curtains are.
To illustrate, here is an example of how you would program an automation:
1. Set vanes to 90 degrees.
2. Open curtain
3. Wait 3 seconds.
4. Stop curtains.
If the curtains were closed, this would get you approximated half opened curtains.
If the curtains were already open, it would do nothing. You’d half to make a second automation that would close the curtains and wait 3 seconds.
Yoolax: please allow us to control the position of the curtains along the track!

Needs More Weather Options
Overall, this app works well with the outdoor shades. However, I have a request!
For weather options, PLEASE:
1) ADD Wind Gust in addition to Wind Speed. In Texas, we can have low to moderate wind speed, but have up to 25+ mph wind gusts.
2) ADD more options for Weather Conditions. It would help to have “Partly Cloudy”, “Mostly Sunny”, “Mostly Clear”, etc. All of the possible conditions the app shows for weather conditions. You offer basics like “Sunny”, “Cloudy”, “Rainy”, “Snowy”, and “Hazy.” My automation don’t activate unless the weather in the app perfectly matches “Sunny”, for example. But even when the app reports “Partly Cloudy”, “Mostly Clear”, etc. - it’s sunny on our patio!
Give us the levers we need for the automation.
