Good to finally see an app that's interactive and helps my kids learn the basics of Yoruba. I trust further apps will be lots better.

This won't make u a master of Yoruba, but it is nicely done. I like that it helps w pronunciation. Good for adults, as well as kids.

This is an very nice and innovative way of teaching people their native language. This app is not just for kids. For someone who can't speak any native lanuage this has helped me to a significant degree. Looking forward to learning other languages, Well done!!
Perfect for beginners
I downloaded this app for my 3 year old caribbean british daughter, because I wanted her to learn and appreciate the language of her grandfather, my dad from an early age. Being able to scrape by in different languages has helped me and i wanted to impart that love of languages to her. she enjoys learning new words each day and always uses this app on a daily basis.
Yoruba 101 makes learning fun and inclusive, and is a great tool for anyone beginning to learn the language. It has sections on the alphabet, common words and syllables and the all important quiz games that test your knowledge. It also is very traditional the background music is a soothing nostalgic rhythm that takes you back to a world of village children and moonlight stories and would spark the interest of any budding historian.
This app is great as it starts by sounding out the pronunciations which i believe makes learners more confident knowing they can pronounce a word correctly. It sparks a yearning for learning new words and interests. My daughter introduced the app to her older cousin who is Jamaican and she also uses yoruba words learnt to replace English where possible and impressed her grandad but reading and pronouncing the words correctly at age 7. this child previously an aversion to all things African. I am looking forward to the additional modules for numbers, colours etc when they come around.
