I to be able to play webm files straight off web sites with it, but since the update a couple of months back when you try the app flashes a black screen then drops back to OS sad as it was the only way to play them seem safari doesn’t not support that media format

This is a thinly-disguised way to get you to see ads hidden in a social-picture-&-video sharing app.
It includes a few filters and tools.
You cannot save edited images back to your camera roll unless you have signed up for the social account.

Don't update
My yxplayer doesn't work anymore. It opens for a second then closes.

Doesn't work! Just bought it and all it does is flash on the screen and close.
This used to be an awesome program.
This used to be the most awesome audio video player on an iPad. Was great for playing live audio & video mms streams. Waste of money & time now.
The last 3 updates have been horrible &
functionality has dropped w each one. This last one doesn't work at all. I am saddened by the lack of care from developer. I wrote them before & no answer & no way to undo updates.
Both the versions are exactly the same...one costs more...same updates. I regret ever buying this program. It is such a shame...was so promising a few years ago.

Doesn't play flash streams
Navigating to flash streams within the apps built in browser and get flash player not installed error. Even typing in direct URL and still doesn't work. Don't waste your money. Apps should do what they claim to do and be easy to use. This one does neither.
Crashes on launch
I just updated the app and it crashes on start up. On iPad 2 with iOS 6.

Samba support has been removed
I didn't like the new UI and samba support has been removed in the last update.

Sorry but a waste of money for me. Trying to play xbmc content. I read this might play the videos better with sound. But no luck even getting to them

Somehow viewing the same rmvb file on another player (Ace Player) looks clearer than using yxplayer. The subtitle also does not resize properly if it's too long (and it appears fine in the other player too).

Caveat emptor
I even tried to report a problem on ITunes and was directed to the developer. When clicking on the developer, my firewall warned me not to go there. I guess I've learned a lesson here about apps.
