Perfect app for heart rate based interval training

This app connects to your heart rate chest (or arm) strap and displays your heart rate and age based zone in real time while you work out. I have it in front of my Assault Bike and do HR based interval training. It connects to my HR straps (Garmin and Polar) flawlessly. Just get the app and start working out!

Exactly what I needed

It’s 2025 and one guy, one guy - Stanley James, has an app that displays your heart rate, big and color coded to your zone, and announces your zone and zone transitions. This is the one you are looking for. I use it on my iPhone.

Spot on. 👍

This is exactly what I needed as I run it along side my concept2 app. The only thing that would improve it for me is landscape mode as my phone is clipped into the bike in that orientation.

I was curious

I saw this app in the store for free and i thought “why not try it?” I am glad i did. I would recommend it. No fuss, it just works! Thanks so much lot Stan.

Thank you! Couple of feature requests :)

It's annoying to look at the watch every time while on the treadmill and this app solves the problem. This is exactly what I was looking for but hope to see Apple Watch support, ie get the heart rate from the current workout. Also if there was a lock screen widget this would be perfect! Big thanks for it being free and not collecting any data or requiring an account!!!

Response from developer

Glad you are finding it useful! And good idea on the Lock Screen widget; I've never used or built those before but this would be a good excuse to learn!

Perfect for Training

Exactly what you need and nothing you don’t want. Easiest connection to Polar HR monitor. Easy to see when running or biking. Audio call outs for HR zones that don’t mute the music - amazing! Easy manual sets for zones. Works at same time as Strava. Just took it for a first run and kept looking at the screen until I realized how good the audio announcements were - helps keep the distraction down and lets me focus on form.

Perfect

Simple & Useful. This is the single best app for Heart Rate Zone training in the entire App Store.

Great

Exactly what I wanted

Nice!

Very simple and to the point. I just wish the screen would fill up on an ipad.

This app is a service to humanity

Does exactly what it says and doesn’t demand your social security number or blood type to do it. I can’t believe this simple functionality is so hard to find in commercial apps.

Response from developer

I too was surprised this simple feature couldn’t be found elsewhere so decided to make this app. I’m glad you are finding it useful!

Simple app which does exactly what you need

This app is very straightforward and does just what you need. It announces what heart rate zone you’re in whenever you move between zones.

Makes zone training easy, no more feeling your pulse or constant wrist checking. A+

No screen lock blocker

Works great for training, for a minute until the iOS screen lock kicks in. Stan, put a screen lock blocker in and you’d have a great simple app!

Need a EKG like graph

I would happily buy this app if you can show a small EKG like live chart and total time in every zone. That looks super cool on screen when running on a trademill with this app on screen in front.
