GSK

My IPhone started behaving erratically after installing this app. IPhone’s battery is draining very fast and restarting frequently. It needs an update.

Too many conflicts

This vpn causes CarPlay to crash and conflicts with many other apps. Sunbelt needs to drop this app

Drains battery

Zcaler consumes way too much battery in the background especially using on the iPhone air. I have had to disable it. Can the developers look into this battery drain, most of my friends also have this same issue.

Battery hogging

It running in background all the time, and consuming battery. For older devices it is nightmare.

Fantastic work

Although older versions had flaws, the latest version is superb and runs seemlessly with minimal battery consumption, no lag on wake up and no issues I’m aware of. Great work Zscaler.

Good mobile implementation of the ZCC

Works very well. Similar experience to the desktop client.

Can’t turn off VPN

There’s no clarification on how I can stop the vpn, very shoddy UI

Client connects / disconnects often - local servers throttle traffic - since Aug 2025

Client connects / disconnects often - local servers throttle traffic - since Aug 2025 - changed providers and countries even from Canada to US - nothing changed.

App is fine - backend needs to be looked at.

The Glacial Guardian of Your Data (and Battery)

If you've ever wanted to experience what it's like to browse the internet through a melting glacier, zScaler is the perfect app for you. Imagine a security solution so committed to safety, it slows your connection down to pre-broadband speeds — just to make sure every packet gets a proper pat-down by digital customs.

Speed

Let’s address the frozen elephant in the room: performance. zScaler operates at the speed of trust… which apparently is slower than erosion. Opening a webpage feels like watching continental drift — fascinating in theory, excruciating in practice. Need to quickly check your email? Better send a carrier pigeon, it’ll get there faster.

Privacy

Installing zScaler on your phone is like inviting a mall security guard to live in your house. Yes, they’ll watch over things — but they’ll also go through your fridge, read your texts, and maybe take notes on your playlists. Full device VPN? Sure. Certificate installation? Why not. SSL inspection? Of course. At this point, it’s unclear who the client is protecting you from — but it’s definitely not itself.

Battery Life

While zScaler claims to keep your phone secure, it also helps you disconnect... permanently, by draining your battery faster than Instagram on a 5G loop. One moment you’re sending a WhatsApp message, and the next you’re frantically searching for an outlet in a coffee shop to charge your phone.

Final Thoughts

If you enjoy slow connections, questionable privacy trade-offs, and having your phone run hotter than your firewall logs — then zScaler is the tool for you. It's like carrying an overzealous IT auditor in your pocket, complete with a clipboard and a deep mistrust of your DNS queries.

Terrible

Always asking to re-authenticate and doesn’t let you.

Disconnected but says connected

Why does it constantly say it’s connected when in fact it’s disconnected?

Bug regarding on and off

VPN is not turning off despite turning it off from the control Centre, it automatically reconnect somehow, so I always have to go back to the app and log so that I am not accessing personal things on company’s VPN

complicated and bad

very complicated. It makes my connection unstable and also I feel like hacked into my phone:)

Complete garbage

Ever since the company made us start using this one. It has been nothing but garbage does not maintain its connection. Have to re-authenticate regularly says it’s connected and then it’s not doesn’t work but well with zoom meetings says I have no Internet access sometimes sometimes I have to disconnect the VPN and then go on the zoom meeting, trying to get company to change total garbage

Awful

Our company forced us to use this malware. Time to look for a new job.

App works exactly as it should

App does what it’s supposed to do. Creates a iOS system wide VPN and then routes traffic through it.

Some of the bad reviews are likely from people who don’t even understand the basic concept of a VPN, but are forced to use it for work - and then are frustrated because their device is behaving in a way they don’t understand, but is perfectly consistent with VPN.

Contrary to what others said…..yes, you can go into the VPN sections of Settings and toggle this on and off just like any VPN app and switch between it and potentially other VPN apps exactly as you’d expect.

Keeps my iPad safe and allows me to access corporate resources

Very stable. Fast internet access on both my iphone and ipad. Battery life impact is minimal since all the agent does is intercept packets and decides whether to send them to the internet or to corporate resources.
