Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Google Cloud at none against QR's 1. Google Cloud also leads on ratings volume (107 vs 2) and rating (3.3 vs 3.0). QR's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. QR sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Google Cloud asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Google Cloud holds the better App Store score, 3.3 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Google Cloud has 107 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 29% of Google Cloud's written reviews are positive against 33% of QR's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Google Cloud ships an update weekly, QR every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
