HAND in Hand is powered by Apple's ResearchKit, allowing you to participate in a medical research study focused on HIV Associated Neurocognitive Disorders (HAND). HAND can occur when HIV enters the nervous system and adversely affects the health of the nerve cells. The BrainBaseline cognitive testing platform has teamed up with the University of Nebraska Medical Center in the hopes that this app will further our research into HAND, but also help you gain insights in how your activities and behaviors may affect your neurocognitive health. While participating in the study, the app will gather three types of information: 1. Health information will be gathered and recorded via your device’s Health app 2. You will complete a few short surveys to understand general demographic and lifestyle information that is important to the study 3. As a participant, you will be asked to complete weekly BrainBaseline assessments to track cognitive function over the course of the study Researchers will use the information the app gathers to better understand HIV and the lifestyle of those who live with it. We invite you to participate as we combine survey, assessment, and health data to bring us closer to understanding this disease and the underlying cognitive effects on people living with this condition.

REQUIRES THE PEAK FLOWMETER SMART ONE ™ MIR SMART ONE is a revolutionary app - integrated with Apple’s app Healt- that communicates via Bluetooth Low Energy with a Peak Flowmeter (SMART ONE ™) for self-care respiratory management. The SMART ONE system (app + device) measures FEV1 and PEF using the same exact technology currently used in the most advanced pulmonary labs worldwide. The app makes the device start the PEAK FLOW and FEV1 measurement. FUNCTIONALITIES During the test, the measurements are transferred in real time from the device to the smartphone. An intuitive animation helps the user to perform the test at best. The app compares the parameter measured by the device with the target value set during configuration, displaying a traffic light health indicator (green, yellow or red) that makes it easy to interpret the test result. The test results are automatically stored on the smartphone and can be displayed later. For each test the user can add useful information such as symptoms, with the severity grade, and notes. NOTE that the personal data of the user (Date of birth, Height, Weight, Gender and Population Origin) are requested by the app for the sole and exclusive purpose of the calculation of Peak flow and FEV1 target values.
