Play PSP games on your iOS device, in high definition with extra features! PPSSPP is the original and only PSP emulator for mobile devices. It can run nearly all PSP games with great performance on iOS. No games are included with this download. Use your own real PSP games and turn them into .ISO or .CSO files (see the homepage for instructions), or simply play free homemade games, which are available in the built-in "Homebrew Store". PSP is a trademark of Sony. The PPSSPP project is in no way affiliated with Sony.

Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: PPSSPP at 72% against AirConsole's 55%. PPSSPP also leads on update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). AirConsole's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.5). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. AirConsole sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and PPSSPP sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
AirConsole holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 5K and 2.7K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of AirConsole's written reviews are positive against 72% of PPSSPP's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
AirConsole ships an update every 2 months, PPSSPP every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
