Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Expense at none against YouKe's 2. Expense also leads on ratings volume (112 vs 1) and review sentiment (97% vs 75%). YouKe's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 6 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. YouKe sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per year. Expense asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

YouKe holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Expense has 112 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 97% of Expense's written reviews are positive against 75% of YouKe's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Expense ships an update every 6 months, YouKe every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
