Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: E at none against Legal Dictionary's 1. E also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Legal Dictionary's advantage is ratings volume (1.3K vs 46). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Legal Dictionary sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. E asks for nothing beyond the download.
E holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Legal Dictionary has 1.3K ratings behind it against 46, so its average is the more settled of the two. Legal Dictionary ships an update every 13 months, E every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
