Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: Kasa Smart at 80K against CodHome's 1. Kasa Smart also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months) and chart position (#31 vs unranked). CodHome's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Kasa Smart sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and CodHome sells 43 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
CodHome holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Kasa Smart has 80K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of Kasa Smart's written reviews are positive against 75% of CodHome's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Kasa Smart ships an update every 3 weeks, CodHome every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
