Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Discogs at 4.8 against DiscoCat's 4.0. Discogs also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and ratings volume (67K vs 1). DiscoCat's advantage is device support (4 vs 1). On price, ads, monetization model and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Discogs holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Discogs has 67K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Discogs ships an update every 3 weeks, DiscoCat every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
