Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: IP Camera Viewer at 4.1 against HawkEyes's 3.3. IP Camera Viewer also leads on ratings volume (1.2K vs 3) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). HawkEyes's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 14) and review sentiment (67% vs 39%). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

IP Camera Viewer holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IP Camera Viewer has 1.2K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of IP Camera Viewer's written reviews are positive against 67% of HawkEyes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

IP Camera Viewer ships an update fortnightly, HawkEyes every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
