Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Intensity at 4.6 against Calgary Barbell Training App's 3.9. Intensity also leads on ratings volume (191 vs 10). Calgary Barbell Training App's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and update cadence (weekly vs every 4 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Intensity sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Calgary Barbell Training App asks for nothing beyond the download.
Intensity holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Intensity has 191 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Intensity's written reviews are positive against 67% of Calgary Barbell Training App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Intensity ships an update every 4 weeks, Calgary Barbell Training App weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
