Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is monetization model: Taskburn at freemium against Tasks Wizard's subscription. Taskburn also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.1 vs 3.8). Tasks Wizard's advantage is review sentiment (71% vs 58%) and update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). On price, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. Tasks Wizard sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Taskburn sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Taskburn holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 38 and 27 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of Tasks Wizard's written reviews are positive against 58% of Taskburn's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Tasks Wizard ships an update monthly, Taskburn every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
