Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Builderment at 4.6 against DFRCT's 3.7. Builderment also leads on ratings volume (3.3K vs 3) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 3 months). DFRCT's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Builderment sells 9 one-off in-app purchases. DFRCT asks for nothing beyond the download.
Builderment holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Builderment has 3.3K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of DFRCT's written reviews are positive against 87% of Builderment's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
DFRCT ships an update every 3 months, Builderment every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 25, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
