Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Digital Puppet at none against Oculux's 4. Digital Puppet also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (100% vs 87%). Oculux's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.6) and ratings volume (199 vs 27). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Oculux sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Digital Puppet asks for nothing beyond the download.
Oculux holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Oculux has 199 ratings behind it against 27, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Digital Puppet's written reviews are positive against 87% of Oculux's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Digital Puppet ships an update every 10 days, Oculux every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 15, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
