The clearest difference is rating: taim at 4.8 against Barney Brown's 3.0. taim also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 24 months) and ratings volume (3.2K vs 4). Barney Brown's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
taim holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: taim has 3.2K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Barney Brown's written reviews are positive against 48% of taim's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Barney Brown ships an update every 24 months, taim fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
