Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Meteor at none against nPTT's 2. nPTT's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 5 weeks). On price, rating and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. nPTT sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Meteor asks for nothing beyond the download.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Meteor against 4.6 for nPTT. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: nPTT has 118 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Meteor ships an update every 5 weeks, nPTT every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
