Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: Home Assistant at 4K against nymea's 1. Home Assistant also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 2 months) and device support (4 vs 2). nymea's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
