The International Child and Youth Care Network (CYC-Net) http://www.cyc-net.org admin@cyc-net.org CYC-Net is a registered non-profit and public benefit organization running in terms of its own Constitution. Its main objectives are to promote and facilitate reading, learning, information sharing, discussion, networking, support, and accountable practice amongst all who work with children, youth, and families in difficulty. CYC-NET started in the mid-1990s as an email listserv group of 8 initial members. These child and youth care practitioners, teachers and writers were located in South Africa, North America, Europe, the Middle-East and Australasia. By 1998 this group had grown to around 200 and today this number stands at many thousands of members. Following the simple email discussion group came a fully-fledged CYC website. The simple website with which we started in the late 1990s has grown today into a vast repository of many thousands of text files, receiving thousands of unique daily visitors. CYC-NET has often been described as the most valuable CYC resource in the world. The field of child and youth care work, almost universally, is an underfunded and precarious enterprise often characterized by its “charity” status and its dependence, where available, on state grants. In very few countries is it regarded as an independent profession with dedicated training institutions and professional regulation. Canada, the UK, USA and South Africa have been notable exceptions in terms of their experience, academic status and state regulation, with the added support of professional associations. However, even in these countries, at the practice level, resources and delivery are varied. CYC-Net was developed with the intention of supporting child and youth care workers, who often are isolated and unsupported in geographically underserved and dispersed parts of the world, where limited access to libraries and low salary levels frequently prevent them from accessing any training whatsoever. CYC-NET operates in terms of its Constitution which was approved by the Board of Governors in December 2000. CYC-Net provides open access to all its users. However, it is only through subscriptions received by universities, colleges, training facilities, service organizations, agencies, associations, and individuals that CYC-Net is able to provide a valuable resource serving the learning needs of the wider Child and Youth Care community. Those who provide a voluntary contribution/subscription are able to participate more fully in CYC-Net's affairs (e.g. nominate Board members, vote at meetings, receive reports, etc.)

Most days pass without us really seeing them. Triad is a small daily habit that changes that. Three questions. Two minutes. One clear view of your life. Every evening, Triad asks you the same three questions, carefully chosen to show you what your day actually held: • What are you proud of today? • What are you grateful for today? • What did you learn or realize today? Three questions that do something bigger than they sound: they show you that your life, even on ordinary days, contains more than you usually notice. A JOURNAL THAT GROWS WITH YOU Every answer becomes part of your personal journal. Search it, filter it, revisit specific days. Mark the moments that mattered as standout highlights. Over weeks and months, a picture of who you are and how you're changing slowly takes shape. INSIGHTS THAT REVEAL PATTERNS Triad shows you the themes that have been shaping your days: what you keep coming back to, what's shifting, what matters. The mood overview makes positive and negative patterns visible and shows how your average mood develops across weeks and months. This helps you recognize changes, notable periods, and weekdays that typically stand out for you. WHY THREE QUESTIONS Not because three is a magic number. Because each question opens a different door: Pride builds self-worth. Gratitude shifts perspective. Learning moves you forward. Together, they cover the parts of a life worth paying attention to, without turning reflection into work. BACKED BY RESEARCH • People who write down three positive things daily are up to 25% happier and more optimistic (Emmons & McCullough, 2003; Seligman et al., 2005). • Gratitude exercises help break rumination cycles and reduce depressive thoughts (Lehr et al., 2021). • Just four weeks of daily reflection measurably increase resilience and lower stress (Lorenz et al., 2022). • Even one to two minutes a day can improve well-being in the long term (Seligman et al., 2005). FEATURES • Three structured reflection questions per day • Personal journal with search, filters, and monthly overview • Standout highlights for especially meaningful entries • Mood heatmap, weekly and monthly trends, and insights into recurring patterns • Quick notes for thoughts during the day • Custom themes including Dark Mode • Daily reminder at your preferred time • Privacy first: your entries stay yours START TODAY Two minutes tonight, and you'll close the day knowing what was actually in it. A week in, you'll start noticing things you would have missed. A month in, you'll have something most people never build: an honest record of your own life. Try Triad for free.
