A blast from the past! Capture your photos with a unique 1-bit camera: only pure black and pure white pixels, no grayscale! BitCam's interface is delightfully old school, featuring chunky buttons and mechanical sounds the likes of which haven't graced your screen in over 40 years. In Camera mode, three different pixel resolutions let you experiment, and an 8-color mode brings you a little closer to the current day while preserving the distinct aesthetic. Or jump over to the editor to dither any photo from your library and experiment with resolutely modern colors & gradients. Clean, high resolution PNG output means you can print those files, use them in digital collages, or other art projects. You can also now run BitCam natively on your iPad, and your Mac! And on Mac, you can install a system extension to use BitCam in any app that uses the camera: Zoom, FaceTime, Google Meet, WebEx, Photo Booth, etc. The camera mode is entirely free and unlimited. The editor mode offers a 3 day trial, after which it requires a one-time in-app purchase for full access, on all of your account's devices.
Dual Lens
Read full descriptionHide full description
Dual Lens turns on both iPhone cameras at the same time. The back camera captures what's in front of you, the front camera captures you, and both end up in one frame. TEMPLATES • A round bubble over the main picture — made for trips, concerts and vlogs. • Rounded square and a portrait 3:4 window. • Split screen: top and bottom, or side by side. • One tap swaps the cameras, so the small picture becomes the big one. MAKE THE WINDOW YOURS • Size and corner radius — from a sharp square to a perfect circle. • Nine preset positions: corners, edge centres and the middle. • Or drag the window anywhere right on the preview. It snaps to a preset when you let go nearby. • A border in any width and colour. • Save your own templates and switch between them with one tap. EVERYTHING YOU EXPECT FROM A CAMERA • Tap to focus and set exposure — on whichever camera you tapped. • Swipe up or down after a tap to brighten or darken the shot. • Touch and hold for AE/AF Lock. • Pinch to zoom or use the lens buttons: 0.5×, 1×, 2× and telephoto where available. • Flash, torch for video, 3 and 10 second timer, grid. • 3:4, 9:16 and 1:1 frames. • White balance: auto or daylight, cloudy, tungsten and fluorescent presets. • Take pictures with the volume buttons or Camera Control. TELEPROMPTER • Keep your scripts in a built-in library: write, paste, edit. • While you record, the text scrolls right under the front camera, so you look almost straight into the lens. • Change speed and text size on the fly. The teleprompter never appears in the video. YOUR LOGO ON EVERY VIDEO • Add a logo from Photos or Files; a transparent PNG stays transparent. • Nine preset positions or drag it anywhere, then set its size and opacity. • Turn it on once and it appears on every video, and on photos too if you like. PHOTO AND VIDEO • HEIF or JPEG photos at full camera resolution. • HEVC or H.264 video with sound. • What you capture matches what you saw on screen. • Optionally keep both original shots as well. PRIVACY Dual Lens collects no data at all: no accounts, no analytics, no ads. Your captures go only to your Photos library. Requires an iPhone with iOS 26 or later.

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Dual Lens at none against BitCam's 2. Dual Lens also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 weeks). BitCam's advantage is device support (4 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). On price and ads there is nothing between them.
