StageLight is a professional lighting control app for the iPad based on Art-Net (DMX512 over IP). The software combines the classic hardware lighting console feeling with a modern and intuitive user interaction design. The user interface is characterized by intelligent use of available space in combination with a high level of flexibility. MULTIPLE UNIVERSES Manage and control fixtures and groups across up to 10 DMX universes. FIXTURE LIBRARY StageLight offers an extensive fixture library based on the Open Fixture Library. New additions include GDTF file import, continued support for StageLight legacy fixtures, and a fixture editor for creating and customizing your own fixtures. MIDI Connect a MIDI controller and turn StageLight into a hardware-style lighting console, or synchronize cue lists with your preferred DAW. CONTROL CHANNELS StageLight is fixture-based. You can assign a single device, a group, or a cue list to a channel across up to 200 pages. IMPORT AND EXPORT Import and export projects or custom fixtures. Project export supports selectable options for fixture patching, cue lists / effects, and settings. Additional print exports are available, including patch sheets, fixture labels, and fixture lists. Use any sharing service such as iCloud, Dropbox, or AirDrop to share projects with friends, colleagues, or between different iPads. CUES AND CUE LISTS Record cues and play them back in cue lists as sequences or chases. Various trigger and sync options are supported, including Global BPM, Ableton Link, and MIDI Clock. EFFECTS Effects in StageLight enable dynamic lighting transitions directly inside cue lists. This allows you to combine static scenes with moving or rhythm-based effects to create more vivid and flexible shows. ABLETON LINK Ableton Link is a technology that synchronizes beat, phase, and tempo between Ableton Live and other Link-enabled applications (DAWs) over the network. In StageLight, Ableton Link is used to synchronize chaser tempo. CITP StageLight uses the Controller Interface Transport Protocol (CITP) to record cues, retrieve thumbnails, and select fixtures in Capture. OSC In StageLight, you can use the Open Sound Control (OSC) protocol to control supported devices with OSC commands. CRMX & W-DMX StageLight supports LumenRadio's Bluetooth DMX protocol, enabling communication with all LumenRadio and OEM products. STAGELIGHT API The StageLight API allows external control of key functions such as cue lists, fixture channels, and tempo. It is relevant for integrations with Companion and Stream Deck and extends StageLight with flexible connectivity to external control systems.

If you've ever wanted to use your iPhone camera as a video & audio input to stream using OBS Studio, we've got you covered. We've tried all the apps that let you do it over WiFi, but they're not fast enough, so we also allow you to use a wired USB connection. The original one. QUALITY VIDEO Your iPhone/iPad camera's are good, really good. In fact, there’s no comparison between the highly recommended streaming webcam, the Logitech C922 HD Pro and the iPhone 6 Camera. Stream Landscape or Portrait video. AUDIO If you don't have a separate mic for your streaming setup, you can now use the microphone on your iOS device to stream audio & video. FRONT CAMERA Stream a selfie with the front camera support. Switch anytime during the stream with the familiar camera switch button. TAP TO FOCUS, PINCH TO ZOOM Controls just like you're used to from the Camera app. MANUAL CONTROLS Take control of the focus, exposure, white balance as you would on a manual DSLR camera. LOW LATENCY Stream video over a wired USB connection. This avoids the issue of delay over wifi, as many other solutions suffer from. This is just as fast as a USB webcam! USB & WIFI Choose the connection type. If you want low latency, use USB, if you'd like portability then use WiFi. WiFi is done using the NewTek™ NDI® protocol, so you can use Camera for OBS Studio with any NewTek™ NDI® compatible receiver. REMOTE CONTROL Control the app from your web browser on your computer. No need to have access to the device anymore to line up that shot perfectly. MULTIPLE DEVICES If you're lucky enough to own multiple iOS devices, use them together and produce a multi-camera stream. MAC AND PC Supports OBS Studio running on macOS and Windows. You will need to install the OBS Studio iOS Camera Plugin from our website, or use an NDI compatible receiver to use this app. For the best possible experience make sure your device is listed on our website https://obs.camera/docs/faqs/#what-ios-hardware-do-i-need MORE Subscriptions will be charged to your iTunes account at confirmation of purchase. Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: StageLight at 84% against Camera for OBS Studio's 40%. Camera for OBS Studio's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 3.8) and ratings volume (3.3K vs 8). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StageLight sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Camera for OBS Studio sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Camera for OBS Studio holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Camera for OBS Studio has 3.3K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 84% of StageLight's written reviews are positive against 40% of Camera for OBS Studio's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

StageLight ships an update every 3 weeks, Camera for OBS Studio every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
