Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: BookPlayer at 20K against AudioBinder's 1. BookPlayer also leads on chart position (#57 vs unranked) and iOS requirement (18.0 vs 26.0). AudioBinder's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 83%) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. BookPlayer sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and AudioBinder sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
AudioBinder holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BookPlayer has 20K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 83% of BookPlayer's written reviews are positive against 100% of AudioBinder's.
BookPlayer ships an update every 10 days, AudioBinder weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
