Talkie is a speech and communication app for anyone who has temporarily or permanently lost their voice — and for anyone who finds speaking difficult. Type what you want to say and have it spoken in a realistic voice, or show it large on your screen. Build whole sentences in a few taps on your own soundboard. And when a phone call is out of the question, let Talkie make the call for you. As a developer with a speech impairment, I know how frustrating it is not to be understood. That is why Talkie exists: so you can make yourself clear in seconds. SPEAK AND SHOW • Type a sentence and have it spoken in a natural male or female voice. • Show your text full screen, or as a scrolling LED banner with your own styles and effects — readable across a crowded room. • Translate your sentence before you speak or show it. SOUNDBOARD • Tiles with your own text, colours, icons, photos or pictograms (ARASAAC), organised in folders. • Place tiles exactly where you want them and set the number of columns for phone and tablet separately. • Tap single words and Talkie turns them into a flowing sentence. • Open a board full screen, or turn a folder into a board of its own. • Browse ready-made boards from other users, and share your own. SPEECH TO TEXT • Turn spoken or whispered words into text and have them read aloud. • Record conversations and meetings with no time limit. • AI fixes typos and finishes your sentence properly. AI CALL ASSISTANT • Tell Talkie who to call and why — it handles the conversation for you. • Listen in live, steer the call, or type exactly what should be said. • Afterwards you get a full transcript with a summary, ready to save. READ ALONG LIVE • Share a six-digit code and the person you are talking to reads along in real time on their own screen. • Send voice messages, or add video. REMINDERS • Reminders, notes and voice memos in one place, with photos, a location and repeating patterns. • Notifications that keep nudging until you tick them off — useful for medication. • Ask a question about your own reminders and get an answer. STORIES • Tell your own story with photos, videos and text, read aloud by an AI voice. AND MORE • Speech therapy: practise word lists and hear yourself back. • ID card: who you are and what others need to know, always at hand. • Camera: magnify small print, scan QR codes, or have AI describe what is in a photo. • Have a PDF read aloud. • Apple Watch: your tiles, your history and recording from your wrist. Turn your wrist and the other person reads along. TALKIE PRO Talkie is free to use. Talkie PRO adds: • Realistic AI voices (male and female). • Unlimited tiles, folders and stories. • Cloud backup and syncing with your other devices. • The AI Call Assistant and transcription of recordings. • Image search for your tiles, and the live camera. • Choose your own start screen and lock tiles with a PIN. • No ads. Subscription: €7.99 per month or €79.99 per year. Prices may vary by country; you will see the exact price in the app. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period in your Apple ID settings.
