Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Amuse Music Distribution at 4.7 against Shamar's 3.9. Amuse Music Distribution also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (20K vs 14). Shamar's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 13) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Amuse Music Distribution holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Amuse Music Distribution has 20K ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of Amuse Music Distribution's written reviews are positive against 50% of Shamar's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Amuse Music Distribution ships an update fortnightly, Shamar every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
