Verdict
The clearest difference is monetization model: Hevy at freemium against GAINSFIRE Workout Tracker's subscription. Hevy also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (101K vs 11). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. GAINSFIRE Workout Tracker sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month and Hevy sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Hevy holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hevy has 101K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 95% of GAINSFIRE Workout Tracker's written reviews are positive against 98% of Hevy's.
GAINSFIRE Workout Tracker ships an update every 3 weeks, Hevy weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
