Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: TMT Chow! at 5.0 against Insite Gold's 4.4. Insite Gold's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and ratings volume (3.2K vs 3). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TMT Chow! sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Insite Gold asks for nothing beyond the download.
TMT Chow! holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Insite Gold has 3.2K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 31% of Insite Gold's written reviews are positive against 22% of TMT Chow!'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Insite Gold ships an update every 5 weeks, TMT Chow! every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
