Verdict
Sign and UniFi Verify both sit at 5.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Sign's written reviews are positive against 34% of UniFi Verify's. Sign also leads on iOS requirement (8.0 vs 17.0). UniFi Verify's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (12K vs 3). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sign sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. UniFi Verify asks for nothing beyond the download.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Sign against 4.9 for UniFi Verify. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: UniFi Verify has 12K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of Sign's written reviews are positive against 34% of UniFi Verify's.
Sign ships an update every 4 months, UniFi Verify every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
