Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Sherwin at none against Alfagres's shown. Sherwin also leads on ratings volume (14K vs 1) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months). Alfagres's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Alfagres holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sherwin has 14K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Sherwin ships an update fortnightly, Alfagres every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
