Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: ZIN Play at 6.7K against Step Labs's 3. ZIN Play also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 weeks). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for ZIN Play against 4.7 for Step Labs. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ZIN Play has 6.7K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.
ZIN Play ships an update every 2 weeks, Step Labs every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
