Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Renogy at 3.8 against TRIGGER ACS's 2.8. Renogy also leads on ratings volume (806 vs 15) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). TRIGGER ACS's advantage is review sentiment (30% vs 11%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 13.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Renogy holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Renogy has 806 ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of TRIGGER ACS's written reviews are positive against 11% of Renogy's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
TRIGGER ACS ships an update every 2 months, Renogy every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
